Yes you are right the translations we see is definitely not according to the subject of Quran .Why……?
because,
وَاتَّبَعُوا مَا تَتْلُو الشَّيَاطِينُ عَلَى مُلْكِ سُلَيْمَانَ وَمَا كَفَرَ سُلَيْمَانُ وَلَكِنَّ الشَّيَاطِينَ كَفَرُوا يُعَلِّمُونَ النَّاسَ
السِّحْرَ وَمَا أُنْزِلَ عَلَى الْمَلَكَيْنِ بِبَابِلَ هَارُوتَ وَمَارُوتَ وَمَا يُعَلِّمَانِ مِنْ أَحَدٍ حَتَّى يَقُولا إِنَّمَا نَحْنُ فِتْنَةٌ
فَلا تَكْفُرْ فَيَتَعَلَّمُونَ مِنْهُمَا مَا يُفَرِّقُونَ بِهِ بَيْنَ الْمَرْءِ وَزَوْجِهِ وَمَا هُمْ بِضَارِّينَ بِهِ مِنْ أَحَدٍ إِلا بِإِذْنِ
اللَّهِ وَيَتَعَلَّمُونَ مَا يَضُرُّهُمْ وَلا يَنْفَعُهُمْ وَلَقَدْ عَلِمُوا لَمَنِ اشْتَرَاهُ مَا لَهُ فِي الآخِرَةِ مِنْ خَلاقٍ وَلَبِئْسَ مَا
شَرَوْا بِهِ أَنْفُسَهُمْ لَوْ كَانُوا يَعْلَمُونَ
Please note
1…. The verse is starting with و which means the subject has its context
in previous verses .
2….The word علی is wrongly translated for علی , فی means, upon, on or against
3…. Who were شیاطین
4… What is the meaning of فتنہ
5… What is the significance of مَا يُفَرِّقُونَ بِهِ بَيْنَ الْمَرْءِ وَزَوْجِهِ
1…, The previous sura is
وَلَمَّا جَاءَهُمْ رَسُولٌ مِنْ عِنْدِ اللَّهِ مُصَدِّقٌ لِمَا مَعَهُمْ نَبَذَ فَرِيقٌ مِنَ الَّذِينَ أُوتُوا الْكِتَابَ كِتَابَ اللَّهِ وَرَاءَ ظُهُورِهِمْ كَأَنَّهُمْ لا يَعْلَمُونَ
101. and whenever came to them a Messenger from Allâh confirming what was with them, a party of those who were given the Scripture threw away the Book of Allâh behind their backs as if they did not know!
This was the attitude of the people of that time. Not only they threw away the divine teachings but they followed what was taught against Sulaiman’s state .
وَاتَّبَعُوا مَا تَتْلُو الشَّيَاطِينُ عَلَى مُلْكِ سُلَيْمَانَ وَمَا كَفَرَ سُلَيْمَانُ وَلَكِنَّ الشَّيَاطِينَ كَفَرُوا
102. they followed what the Shayâtin gave to them against the state of Sulaiman. Sulaimân did not refuse to accept Divine orders, but the Shayâtin refused to accept
يُعَلِّمُونَ النَّاسَ السِّحْرَ
They used to teach Fake and Bogus teaching ( magic )
وَمَا أُنْزِلَ عَلَى الْمَلَكَيْنِ بِبَابِلَ هَارُوتَ وَمَارُوتَ
i.e.whatever was given at Babylon to the two angels, Hârût and Mârût
So people were learning and teaching Fake and Concocted stories i.e. whatever was given to Haroot and Maroot .
Haroot is derived from the root letters ھرت which means to pierce, to injure one’s honour, Man with long corners of mouth .
Maroot is derived from the root letter مرت which means desert, land without vegetations, Hairless
وَمَا يُعَلِّمَانِ مِنْ أَحَدٍ حَتَّى يَقُولا إِنَّمَا نَحْنُ فِتْنَةٌ فَلا تَكْفُر
"and neither of the two taught anyone till they had said, "We are to stir up revolt , so don’t refuse to accept "
A word فتنہ has appeard here in this verse which is from root letters ف ت ن which means try, probe, civil war, revolt, mischief, disorder,
فَيَتَعَلَّمُونَ مِنْهُمَا مَا يُفَرِّقُونَ بِهِ بَيْنَ الْمَرْءِ وَزَوْجِهِ وَمَا هُمْ بِضَارِّينَ بِهِ مِنْ أَحَدٍ إِلا بِإِذْنِ اللَّهِ
So from them people learnt all that by which they can cause separation between the man
(the leader ) and his people , but they could not harm with it anyone except through divine command .
وَيَتَعَلَّمُونَ مَا يَضُرُّهُمْ وَلا يَنْفَعُهُمْ
and they learn that which could harm themselves and did not profit them.
وَلَقَدْ عَلِمُوا لَمَنِ اشْتَرَاهُ مَا لَهُ فِي الآخِرَةِ مِنْ خَلاقٍ وَلَبِئْسَ مَا شَرَوْا بِهِ أَنْفُسَهُمْ لَوْ كَانُوا يَعْلَمُونَ
and indeed they knew that the bussiness they were doing would have no share in the end and How bad indeed was that for which they sold their ownselves, if they knew .
Summary ,
This verse is about a revolt against the Muslim head of the state. There were two traitors called Haroot and Maroot i.e. شیاطین من الملا یکہ who wanted to topple the state (The confusion starts when Malaika are supposed to be innocent, although Quran says that Iblees was one of the شیا طین )
These two traitors were preparing people to go against Sulaiman and used to tell people absolutely false stories and tried to convince them that they were the saviours, so they tried to convince public to stand against Sulaiman. But they did not succeed. Although they knew that in the end they will get nothing .
If you study the next verse it becomes even more clear
وَلَوْ أَنَّهُمْ آمَنُوا وَاتَّقَوْا لَمَثُوبَةٌ مِنْ عِنْدِ اللَّهِ خَيْرٌ لَوْ كَانُوا يَعْلَمُونَ
103. and if they had accepted to live in peace, and guarded themselves from evil according to divine commands , far better would have been the reward from their Lord, if they knew. | |

Again a highly rational enlightenment from you.
Sir, when I go through the explanations of ourbeacon.com in comparison with yours, they seem to offer only a myth to please the children. Why are they so haughty and authoritative, with a child's mindset? I have minutely gone through the NEWSLETTER of Aastana and through what 'those so-called Quranics" are doing with their own Quranic brothers. They definitely are lurking in the shadows of obstinacy and ignorance.
