| Dear Mohammad Abeer assalam o alaikum,please read the verse 28/14--19,the arthodox interpretation says that the man was killed by MUSA.But when you read the verse 14 of this sura it says that MUSA was given the "hukman wa illma",so come to the verse15,here we find that,two persons were quarreling at some matter .The QATL does't mean only to kill (see the qatl al ambia in quran)then at the call of one who was from the people of MUSA(pbuh) the MUSA saperated the other one and decided the matter in the favour of other, see the word used is QAZA ..Please focus at the word used in verse 15 that is WAKARRAH wich also means to saperate (to make move)it does't only means to blow .The illm and hikmat does't teach to blow and fight like illitrate persons,at the end MUSA describing their act as the action of shetan.Dear brother see the punishment of QTL AL NAFS in quran, Allah newer make injustice amongst the people whether he is nabi or any ordinary person ,the verse 16 of this surah gives the pardon to MUSA which clearly indicate that there was no any QATL.Now come to the verse 19 of the surah the enemy of MUSA says,would you humiliate me as you did with the man yesterday,(qatl in the same sense as described above).I request Dr. Qamar sahib to enlighten us about the same story,and correct me if i'm wrong. | |

وکز means to push ,to separate ,etc and قضی علی means to decide against .

| Dear Moazzam ..I think 28/14-20 needs more explanation. why did moosa said " haaza amali shaitan' " qaala rabbi inni zalamtu nafsi faghfirli faghafara lahu.......rabbi bima anamtu...........fa-asbaha fi madeenati khaifan..........-.qaala ya moosa a tureedu an taqtulni kama qatata nafsan bil amasi !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! plz. elaborate | |

| Dear Alam salam o alaikum,first of all we must know that Musa(pbuh) given his decision against some very important person of firaon and separated him ,so that person was humiliated(qatl annafs). 1:-Musa said " haza min amalishaitan "to their act of quarreling. 2:-go to the verse 5/45 and 18/74 to find out the punishment and act of" qtl alnafs beghair al haq" in the sight of Musa. 3:- verse 28/16--17shows the realization to Musa as he had been with the firaon's people before "illm and wisdom bestowed by Allah", in the next verse he says now i never be with QAOM AL MUJREMEEN. (check the verse 7/133,10/75) . 4:- In verse 28/18--19 Musa noted that the way & conduct of the man of "bani israil" is not correct ,but Musa again harried to do the same job as he did yesterday . 5:- In the verse 20/40 Musa was expecting harsh reaction of firaon as the decision was given against the firaon's person so Allah given protection against those worries(GHAMM).So Allah said, that was the great and first testing of your" illm and wisdom" .4:-Come to the verse28/33 this verse clarify the mystry of qtl,here Musa(pbuh) said that i already given the decision against the person of firaon ,so i fear that the firaon and his people would behave with denial attitude with me(the man given ILLM&WISDOM will never afraid /scare from death nor scape to save his life),in comming verse 34 Musa requested Allah for the company of HAROON ,so that he will second my nabowat .Point to be noted that Musa did not request for Haroon's company to protect him(to gaurd),but for delivering message in a better way.,also to second the Musa's claim.Dear Alam if any murder happed by some gentleman he ought to surrender in the court of law of that society , and should not scape with scare to save his life.Dr.Qamar zaman sahib please comment and correct me if i'm wrong.

| In these verses one has to decide who is talking to whom ,
وَدَخَلَ الْمَدِينَةَ عَلَى حِينِ غَفْلَةٍ مِنْ أَهْلِهَا فَوَجَدَ فِيهَا رَجُلَيْنِ يَقْتَتِلانِ هَذَا مِنْ شِيعَتِهِ وَهَذَا مِنْ عَدُوِّهِ فَاسْتَغَاثَهُ الَّذِي مِنْ شِيعَتِهِ عَلَى الَّذِي مِنْ عَدُوِّهِ فَوَكَزَهُ مُوسَى فَقَضَى عَلَيْهِ قَالَ هَذَا مِنْ عَمَلِ الشَّيْطَانِ إِنَّهُ عَدُوٌّ مُضِلٌّ مُبِينٌ
15. and He entered the City at a time when its people were not watching: and He found there two men fighting,- one of His party , and the other, of His foes. the man of His own party appealed to Him against His foe, and Moses pushed him and gave verdict against him (the man of the other party ) and said to him ( the person of the other party .) : "This is a work of evil (Satan): for He is an enemy that manifestly misleads!"
قَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّي ظَلَمْتُ نَفْسِي فَاغْفِرْ لِي فَغَفَرَ لَهُ إِنَّهُ هُوَ الْغَفُورُ الرَّحِيمُ
16. The person of the other party admitted "O My Lord! I have indeed done a wrong act on my own person so forgive me!" so he forgave him ,because He is the Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful.
In these verses it is clearly shown that Musa did not kill anybody . he simply gave his decision in favour of a person who was from his party
Now coming to verse 17 &18 lets see these verses ,
قَالَ رَبِّ بِمَا أَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيَّ فَلَنْ أَكُونَ ظَهِيرًا لِلْمُجْرِمِينَ
17. He said to Musa "My Lord! for that with which You have favoured me, I will never be a Helper for the criminals.!"
فَأَصْبَحَ فِي الْمَدِينَةِ خَائِفًا يَتَرَقَّبُ فَإِذَا الَّذِي اسْتَنْصَرَهُ بِالأمْسِ يَسْتَصْرِخُهُ قَالَ لَهُ مُوسَى إِنَّكَ لَغَوِيٌّ مُبِينٌ
18. so He became afraid, in the city when the man who had sought his help the Day before, called for his help . Mûsa said to him: "Verily, You are a plain misleader!"
There is no reason that we should think about Musa killing a person . this story again is from the Jewish interpretations .
One very BASIC rule in understanding the stories of the prophets is given in the verse 76 of sura 27 .
إِنَّ هَذَا الْقُرْآنَ يَقُصُّ عَلَى بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ أَكْثَرَ الَّذِي هُمْ فِيهِ يَخْتَلِفُونَ
76. Verily, This Qur'ân narrates to the Children of Israel Most of that about which they differ.
Remember
If someone copies the same narrations as given in Bible or tries to get authenticity to his interpretations of Quran from Bible then he is completely astray from the actual purpose behind that story .
So while trying to understand the stories of the prophet forget everything which has been told to you before , just concentrate on the purpose . | |
