Dear Aslam! First understand the terminologies used in the verse under discussion
1) بِقُرْبَانٍ = the custom/way of life which cause to become favorite (Muqarribeen 56/88), to be more clear about the sense of Qurbanon see 9/99, 46/28.
Its understanding should be cleared/apparent for guidance.
Implementing with Understanding see the verses 5/42,6/118-121, 22/28,36.
3) النَّارُ = Clear guidance see the verse 27/7-9,28/29 قَالَ لِأَهْلِهِ امْكُثُوا إِنِّي آنَسْتُ نَارًاThe root is same as for Noor which mean Guidance 57/9هُوَ الَّذِي يُنَزِّلُ عَلَىٰ عَبْدِهِ آيَاتٍ بَيِّنَاتٍ لِيُخْرِجَكُمْ مِنَ الظُّلُمَاتِ إِلَى
Clear proofs
5) وَالْكِتَابِ الْمُنِيرِ = the clear book (having Understandable guidance)
LET US COME TO THE TOPIC
The second part of the verse itself explaining the facts (what was their demand), moreover the next verse is providing a clear evidence for their denial attitude with “BAYYINAAT and ALKITAB ALMUNEER”.In fact they were demanding to accept their false “RELIGIOUS MATERIAL” and alter which you presenting, because your message is not understandable to us.
3/183
[They are] those who said, "Indeed, Allah has taken our promise not to believe any messenger until he brings us بِقُرْبَانٍ (the custom/way of life which cause to become favorite) which should be تَأْكُلُهُ (understandable implemental) النَّارُ (guide) to us and " Say, "There have already come to you messengers before me with clear proofs and [even] that of which you speak. So why did you kill them, if you should be truthful?"

3/184

Brother Moazzam: Please enlighten us,What is qurbani (Sunnat e Ibrahimi) i e sacrifices of animal by 10th "ZIL HAJJ)

Comments by: moazzam On 29 October 2011
Dear Mujeeb! NO SACRIFICES OF GOAT OR COW, RATHER THE HARD STRUGGLE.
As we know that, the vision(dream) of Ibraheem was to establish one “IDARAH”called Bait in a very unfavorable and adverse situation in the society with the help of Ismail (certainly it was a tough job, needs sacrifices). The verses 37/102 explains that dream of Ibraheem. Carefully read the verses 37/103-108 the situation would be cleared to you, WHAT TYPE OF SACRIFICES HAS BEEN REQUIERD.
أَسْلَمَا = both of them submitted
تَلَّهُ = found him in a manner
لِلْجَبِينِ = for prostration

بَلَاءٌ مُبِينٌ= To know the sense see the verse وَآتَيْنَاهُم مِّنَ الْآيَاتِ مَا فِيهِ بَلَاءٌ مُّبِينٌ
And when he reached with him [the age of] exertion, he said, "O my son, indeed I have had a vision that I [must] sacrifice you, so see what you think." He said, "O my father, do as what you versioned . You will find me, as per Allah’s wills, of the steadfast."
So when they had both submitted their wills (to Allah), and he found him in a prostrate manners (for sacrifice).
We called out to him "O Abraham!
"Thou hast already fulfilled the vision!" - thus indeed do We reward those who do right.
Indeed, this was the clear trial.
And We ransomed him with a great sacrifice.
And We left (this blessing) for him among generations (to come) in later times

Dear Brother Please enlighten the above verse.

Dear Saeed! Although “NAAR” has been used in deferent meanings at different places of Quran, but the context of the subject determines its true sense. Here in the verse under question it is the metaphorical use of fire, like kindle the fire of war.
Allah extinguished the fire of enmity and haltered which was ignited by their religious leaders in the public’s mind /hearts.
The following part of the verse makes the picture clear.
Amongst them we have placed enmity and hatred till the Day of Judgment. Every time they kindle the fire of war, Allah doth extinguish it; but they (ever) strive to do mischief on earth. And Allah loveth not those who do mischief.
We said, "O Fire! be thou cool, and (a means of) safety for Abraham

.Dear Moazzam if Allah dosent interfere directly in human affairs then how Allah extinguish the fire of enmity which was ignited by their religious leaders in public mind

Comments by: moazzam On 30 October 2011
Dear Saeed! Each and every happening in this world is always through due course of procedure, in this case the continues struggle of Ibraheem to convince the public (mind set) as Rasools/prophets usually use to do.
HAATH HAY ALLAH KA BANDA E MOMIN KA HAATH

Comments by: Mubashir Syed On 30 October 2011 Edit DeleteReport Abuse
Dear Saeed, I think the process of extinguishing fire of enmity ignited by religious leaders is through persistent dialog with public/people.

Let me try to take an example here to elaborate, When ideology first reaches someone and when he is not ready to even imagine he was wrong and was fooled by religious leaders he might show anger(Fire) in his mind and might make air too hot for the one who delivers him the message. With time and more dialogs he might start thinking which makes his mind much cooler comparatively to hear what other person has to say. And when he sprouts a wish to understand the truth he becomes receptive (Salamati) and starts absorbing the facts by breaking all the shackles. This is the procedure of Allah’s set Law with which fire is extinguished.

On the same lines when a person who gets the message and introduce that in family/friends/society he is thrown in fire of anguish ( May be getting an ultimatum from parents to go away from home/ from wife and in laws / friends circle and relatives). But when the person takes it in a right way and start delivering by having dialogs with intelligent people of understanding of his network they become receptive / will ignore and accept it as his own choice which they start respecting if not accepting.

Just 2 cents, not sure if it helps in clarity for the concern…

Note : It might touch few hearts as am sure few/all who are reading this might have gone/going through the above situations in life…Lage raho munna bhai.....:)

Thanks,
Mubashir Syed.
