Dear Dr.Qamar and members. What are the root letters of word يُوقِنُونَ and تُوقِنُونَ
Also why Allah has asked us to beleive on بِالْآخِرَةِ in 2/4? Just beleiving is enough to bring peace?

Dear Doctor Sahab
As you said in the explaination of verse 2/3

I couldn't find meaning of و ق ن as beleiving
but found ي ق ن as beleiving. Please explain/clarify

AA dear waseemameer, you are right about root YAA, QAAF and NOON for YAQEEN and it means knowing something for sure. WOW, QAAF, NOON is just result of human error by brother Qamaruzzaman sb.

As for knowing truth about things for sure, there are five categories of these.

1)absolute truth ie truth as it is regardless anyone knows about it or not.

2)self evident truth ie something that is observed the same by anyone in position of observing it. It is objective ie external to one's mind eg if there are ten people looking at a tree and they all see it then it is something really out there, not just in a mind of any particular person.

3)reliable testimony based truth ie we have a witness's testimony with which we find no problems when we cross examine it.

4)Probable truth ie something about which we find some clues but no witness. The clues or circumstantial evidences give us reasons to explain it in way that it cannot be contradicted by any other equally valid explanation eg theory of evolution.

5)possible truth ie something that can be true as well as false. No real evidence one way or the other.

There are two kinds of convictions that we witness in people ie one real because it is based on evidence and other make belief ie unreal, not evidence based. One is scientific but other is a mystery.

God bless. Mughal1.

To me , اور مکافات عمل پر یقین رکھتے ہیں , means:

Muqafate amal par yaqeen rakhte hai

= they are certain about the outcome of their actions, or they are well aware of the result of certain actions -which is totally different from blind faith/ belief, but its zarf, sense of something and knowing how things can be calculated and how they work -

Dear brother Mughal, I agree with your above statement 100%. I would add that it has to be within our faculties of understanding. People often beleive in something which is not understandable/not within our understanding.
Can you tell me that beleiving in Allah(as an object) is important, or beleiving in laws of nature is important, or beleiving in Allah= beleiving in laws of nature?

So the بِالْغَيْبِin ayat 2/3 are laws of nature and Akharat is the result of it. So we must beleive the outcomes are must, which we beleive anyway. All the actions have their results.

Actually I am struggling with Bay with zer understanding. It has several meanings, what to use when?
